Pure Ceylon Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a widely used plant which has many uses. Cinamomum Zeylanicum is a plant species that is indigenous to the island of Sri Lanka. Due to the unique qualities of Ceylon Cinnamon, the product has been able to establish a reputation for its premium quality all around the globe.

The old botanical synonym for the tree—Cinnamomum zeylanicum— is derived from Sri Lanka’s former name, Ceylon and is indigenous to the island. Sri Lanka still produces 90% of the world’s supply of Cinnamomum verum, which is also cultivated on a commercial scale in the Seychelles and Madagascar in a lower quality.

Cinnamon Varieties

While there are hundreds of types of Cinnamon, only four varieties are used for commercial purposes. The cinnamon known as “true cinnamon” is Ceylon cinnamon. This is the only variety that many other countries refer to as cinnamon. Other varieties are known as cassia.
